Joshua E. Self, CLU, ChFC, CFP® – Managing Partner

Josh has been in the financial services business since his first internship with a broker/dealer in New York City during the summer of 1999. He is primarily responsible for handling the day-to-day duties of managing the firm, and all aspects of our relationship with clients, from planning to investments to communication.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 with a degree in Business Administration (and a focus in Finance), Josh became an advisor solely as a means to help people. He saw it as an opportunity to serve people and felt that an advisor is given space in clients’ lives that few other people are given.

Josh understands that money – specifically the fear and greed that often surround it – can ruin someone. He wants to be a catalyst to help show a path to freedom from fear and greed about money matters through planning in a way that can harness wealth.

In addition, because Josh knows that the only true antidote to today’s materialism and greed is generosity, he uses the planning process to empower clients to achieve their goals while still living open handedly.  He has a genuine care and concern for each of his clients and strives to find ways to make his clients lives better for having met and worked with him.

Josh is married to his beautiful wife, Megan, and is raising four energetic kids. He enjoys reading in his spare time (which is usually very early in the morning or late at night) and training for endurance races such as triathlons.

He is proud to have competed in many different endurance trail runs and triathlons of varying lengths, including an Ironman 70.3 race, comprised of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike and 13.1-mile run in one day.
